Matthias Busch studied law in Bonn. He started his career in the legal department of the German Privatization Agency. In 1996, he moved as a lawyer to the law firm Schmidt-Sibeth Zirngibl Langwieser Heisse. In 2004, Matthias became a partner in the firm which in the meantime had changed its name to Schmidt-Sibeth Heisse Weiskopf Kursawe. In 2005, the firm split up and Matthias became head of the labor law group in one of the successors of the firm, avocado rechtsanwälte. In September 2010, Matthias founded Busch Essers Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft together with Monika Essers, one of his former partners at avocado rechtsanwälte.

Matthias is a specialist solicitor for labor law since 2001.

Matthias advises national and international acting employers in all questions of individual and collective labor law as well as in the adjoining legal areas of social security law and the law of commercial agents. A major focus of his work is also the representation of employers’ interests towards work councils and labor unions. Matthias has a large experience as assessor for employers in companies’ arbitration committees. He also advises enterprises in all labor law questions of mergers & acquisitions. Moreover, Matthias represents the interests of members of the board of directors, managing directors and executives in all questions of service contracts.

Matthias is the author of several legal publications in the area of labor law and gives presentations in this field regularly.
